How to Create a Windows 10 Password Reset Disk Using USB Flash Drive
If you have set a password for the local user
you use to sign into your Windows 10, you are advised to create a password
reset disk just in case one day you forget the password and lock yourself out.
As all of us after all are not saints, nobody knows when he will forget the
password. Anyhow, where there is a password, there is a password reset disk
required.
Here I am going to share two options to create a Windows 10 password reset disk
using USB flash drive – the removable media which is easier to carry and
use.

Option 1: Use USB flash drive to create a Windows 10 password reset
disk on your own current computer
This way only works when you haven’t forgotten
the password yet and you have signed in your Windows 10.
Step 1:Press Win + X and then click Control
Panel to access Windows 10 Control Panel. In the search box in the top
right corner, type password reset disk.
Then click on the Create a password
reset disk link under User Accounts.
Step 2:Forgotten Password Wizard opens.
Insert a USB flash drive into the computer and click Next.
Step 3: Note your USB flash letter and click Next.
Step 4: Type your current user account password
and click Next.
Step 5: When the progress is completed, click Next following Finish. Then you’ve successfully created a Windows 10 password
reset disk on the USB flash drive.
Tips: To use this password reset disk, just
need to insert it into your computer, and then click Reset Password link showed at Windows 10 sign-in screen. Then
follow the Password Reset Wizard to reset a new password for your user account.
Option 2: Create a Windows 10 password reset disk using USB flash
drive with the help of another computer
This way usually helps you create a password
reset disk after you have already forgotten Windows 10 password and been locked
out.
Step 1: On another computer you can access as
administrator, download and install iSumsoft
Windows Password Refixer program. When installation is completed, launch
this program.
Step 2: Click USB device.
Step 3: Insert a USB flash drive into the
computer. Note the drive letter from the drop-down button and then click Begin burning. Format the USB drive
when prompted.
Step 4: When Burning Successfully pops up, you will have successfully created a
Windows 10 password reset disk on the USB flash drive.
Tips: This password-reset USB disk is
bootable. To use it, just need to boot up your password-forgotten Windows 10 computer
from the USB drive, and then follow the steps on iSumsoft Windows Password Refixer screen to reset the password to blank.
